At my school, I’ve seen kids get their phones taken away at lunch for no reason. People at lunch could just be harmlessly using their phone under the table one minute and the next, it gets confiscated. I also think staff members think we would be glued to our phones or being even noisier if we were allowed to take our phones out at lunch, but that isn’t true. Some of the people we sit with, we don’t even see during the day so we talk at lunch. I think this would make a difference because some people don’t have people to sit with at lunch and just “talking to new people” or “meet new friends” isn’t that easy and if you had a phone, it wouldn’t be as boring. If you work at FCPS or FMS, please take this into consideration.
