School uniforms are meant to equalize students, so why enforce gendered dress codes

If a vast majority of girls do not have any problem with the implementation of gender-neutral uniforms, schools shouldn’t be reluctant in doing so. In fact, almost all of them find skirts uncomfortable.

During winters or generally, girls wear leggings along with their skirts. This problem of double clothing can be avoided if girls too get to wear pants in place of skirts. Moreover, double clothing is POINTLESS, we’re just wasting two types of clothes when we can only wear one.

These uniforms not only promote equality among girls and boys, but also among the non-binary. It provides a comfortable space for non-binary students and they don’t feel compelled to wear uniforms specific only to one gender. 

Undoubtedly, schools strive to make their environment comfortable for students. However, if they are unable to make the basic apparel worn by students comfortable, all their effort goes in vain. 

Comfort should preferred over looks / formality or anything at all 

Uniforms are meant to unite us and prove us equal. The diversity of India is made invisible in schools to provide undisturbed education, that’s the whole point of uniforms. But, very pointlessly, the uniforms of different genders also have been divided. Not to mention gender discrimination is above all kinds of unfair divisions in our country.
