We the undersigned, as a part of the Academy community who have just found out about Eve’s position being cut, are severely disappointed and frustrated. Not only has Eve been amazing at her job but she has been an instrumental part of our community. Eve's position as Activities coordinator is a position that directly supports, serves, and affects students. Without her functions such as assemblies, talent-shows (the most recent of which raised $7,000), dances, clubs and more would not be possible, not to mention her support of students' ideas for activities and projects. Throughout in-person school and online learning Eve has been a great supporter of students, especially in this tough time. Eve’s position not only represents our community values and school mission but Eve as a person also embodies these values and mission. Without Eve, club and school participation would be minimal to none (excluding sports). Also, our work and cultural identities would be minimally represented/shown without her work in assemblies, clubs and student outreach. Eve builds relationships with every student she comes across and even if she's not close with a student, she still supports their endeavors and opinions. She is the bridge between students and teachers as she listens to the students’ ideas and opinions and communicates them to teachers. Throughout the pandemic, by organizing community meetings she has been instrumental in bringing the distanced Academy community together. Eve is an amazing and kind person that improves school morale and environment. At the Academy community is the most important thing we value and Eve is a vital part of that community. To lose her would be a great loss to teachers and students alike. 

We demand Eve and her position stay at the Academy because of her essential role in the community and pursuit of student welfare.
