Princess Abbey: A New Kind of Disney Magic

Princess Abbey: A New Kind of Disney Magic

The Issue

Abbey from Love on the Spectrum is more than a television personality—she is a radiant, joyful, and deeply inspiring person who represents so much of what the world needs more of: compassion, creativity, kindness, and unapologetic authenticity.

Abbey’s journey on Love on the Spectrum was nothing short of magical. Her love for animals, her infectious laughter, her courage in expressing her emotions, and her passion for singing and writing songs remind us that real people can embody the same qualities we admire in fictional characters. Abbey dreams with her whole heart. She speaks with sincerity, dances with joy, and brings out the best in those around her. In many ways, she already is a princess.

But here’s the thing: the world has never seen a Disney princess like Abbey—and it’s time we change that.

Disney has a long history of creating characters who inspire children and adults alike. Each princess has brought something new to the table—bravery, kindness, intelligence, curiosity, resilience. But so far, we’ve never had a Disney princess who reflects the lived experiences of someone who is neurodivergent, especially someone who is autistic. Abbey could be the first. Not because she only represents autism, but because she represents people—real, multifaceted, complex, beautiful people.

A princess inspired by Abbey wouldn’t just be a step forward in representation—it would be a celebration of individuality. She would show kids around the world that being different isn’t just okay—it’s magical. That there is strength in softness, power in vulnerability, and beauty in being exactly who you are.

This is not about turning Abbey into a fictional character. This is about acknowledging how powerful her story is, how inspiring her light can be, and giving the next generation someone they can see themselves in. A character who loves animals, dreams of true love, writes songs from the heart, and believes in the magic of being kind and genuine—just like Abbey.

This campaign is about more than Disney. It’s about visibility. It’s about inclusion. It’s about expanding the idea of what a princess can be. And most importantly, it’s about giving people like Abbey—and everyone who has ever felt “different”—a chance to see themselves as the hero of their own story.

Please sign and share this petition if you believe Disney has the opportunity (and the responsibility) to create something truly groundbreaking by making a character inspired by Abbey. Let’s come together to show the world that princesses don’t all look or act the same—and that the real magic happens when we celebrate every kind of story.

Let’s help the world see Abbey the way we do: as someone truly unforgettable.
