stop city of Prince George from raising sewage dumpage rates to $45/m³

The Issue

city of Prince George wants to increase Sewage dumping fees by 120%. This will effect every rural homeowner in the Prince George Area as well as homes on North Nechako rd, cranberry Hill, PG pulpmill rd, Northwood pulpmill rd, restaurant owners, and car washes. If you have a Lagoon, Septic system, or a holding tank the cost of having your tank emptied will go from $300 to $510 for every 1000 gal. People who have holding tanks need them emptied every 4 to 8 weeks. Why do rural home owners who pay tax to the Regional District of Fraser Fort George where the Lagoon is located now have to pay tax to the city of Prince George? Who is going to pay when we are all sick and our animals are dying because people are pumping their waste into the back field?Who is going to compensate for the loss of property value when people won't purchase homes with holding tanks. New regulations will make restaurants empty grease traps every month. If grease bergs are a problem wont this make it worse? Why should homeowners be responsible for paying for this. Is the city of Prince George gouging the rural people for mismanaged funds because we can't vote for them?
