SIGN THE PETITION TO NOT ALLOW THE FLYING OF AN ANTI-ABORTION FLAG IN PRINCE ALBERT, SASKATCHEWAN.
City council must not, and cannot, according to the city's own flag policy, approve the proclamations and fly the flags of groups that are controversial, promote intolerance, are divisive to the community, and most importantly, discriminatory. The pro-life groups behind this flag are actively holding meetings in SK to re-criminalize abortion. Because sex discrimination is prohibited by federal and provincial law, including human rights law, and because the right to access abortion has been found by Canadian courts to be part of "security of the person" (as well as liberty, conscience, privacy and equality), and because the necessary medical procedure of abortion is only required by one biological sex (people with sex organs able to become pregnant; attempts to restrict abortion is discrimination against us - women, transmen and gender diverse persons. City hall must not appear to promote the causes of groups working against women and gender diverse people's fundamental human rights. Period.
