Legal Medically Assisted Euthanasia

Legal Medically Assisted Euthanasia
The issue
MY wife of 58 years, a lovely Lady who because of ongoing medical problems had the foresight, 4 years ago, to prepare her "Advanced Health Care Plan" stating that she did not want to be resuscitated, (with the assistance of her GP, and legally certified by a Justice of the Peace), recently passed away.
But why did my wife have to endure a 5 day slow lingering death after a massive stroke. (her second in two years). Although the Doctors at the Royal Brisbane Hospital did all they could to make her comfortable in her last days they were legally not able to assist her wish of dying "With Dignity".
Voluntary Euthanasia should be every citizens right, providing it is approved by at least two attending doctors, and the Advanced Health Care plan is in place.
There are many reasons for our PM to act now, to really look at this call for a persons right to die with dignity when the medical authorities agree that a person will be unable have a reasonable expectation of life .
Apart from the heartbreak it may save those left behind, there is the millions of dollars that would be saved to be used elsewhere in the health system.
