As Australia's biggest trading partner, we should be able to hold China accountable for their genocidal treatment of the Tibetan people, and their policies on Tibet as an independent nation. Australia is China's biggest and most important supplier of resources essential to their continued growth. This should be enough for the Australian government to apply pressure on the Chinese Communist Party, and to make a statement that they must accept some level of responsibility for the recent spate of Self-immolations committed by a growing number of Tibetan monks, nuns and civilians.
