I am writing this petition to support a wonderful teacher who has brought smiles and a great work ethic to Center High School (I am not sure at this moment if she would like her name to be public, so for now she will be nameless). From my experience, and the experience of other students at Center High School, she has made an overall greatly positive impact for these students, and many hoped she could be their teacher for the next level of the subject she teaches. But the administrators of Center Joint Unified School District has planned to make her leave at the end of of the school year, for in my opinion, unjustified and whack reasons, I can not get into more detail, but I will say that it did regard a club. There was other feedback from other teachers saying that her work ethic was terrible, but based on how many students have came to her, I would like to say that is highly contradictory. Many students, even ones that don’t have her as a teacher, have came to her for tutoring, and she has welcomed them all in with open arms, students ranging from freshman to seniors have asked her for advice, and for help on review, and she has never turned a student down. Another thing these teachers argue is that she has started drama a lot on campus, but that yet again, is super contradicting. She’s settled affairs and arguments between students in her classes and club, bringing us all to a point of agreement, or agreeing to disagree, she is one of the best mediators I personally have seen. Another thing is that teachers say she makes students feel uncomfortable, as you can tell, this reason, and the others previously mentioned are all objectively false. By my personal experience, and the experience of friends of mine, she has made us feel more open speaking out to our school, bit by bit, I don’t even have her as a teacher, yet I love to open up to her about issues regarding my life, family, and friendships, she is the first teacher I have ever spent time after school to get tutoring, do after school club activities, or just talk, I can guarantee that at the very least, a majority of her students feel safe with her being their teacher, it has even gotten to the point where other students want to switch to her period just because they feel safer in the environment she’s created. She has even sacrificed her time for a club she does not even get paid to attend for, and not only that, every single asset for our club was bought by her, not by the money we’ve raised through fundraising or working outside of school, this makes me believe she is strongly here for the benefit of students, and that this mindset also carries on in her classes. And I’m not certain about what I am about to say, but I hear these other teachers in her department do not care much about the students they teach, and I want to say that her being apart of this department is giving a great look on Center High School. I would like for this petition to reach the administrators of the Center Joint Unified District, which so far does not sound like they are delivering with what they call themselves.  I would like to tell them: If you think firing this teacher is benefitting your campus, and the students who come here, I guarantee you should think again, an if this school really does stand for the students, then you would in fact not be firing her, she had made such a great impact in the short time she has been here.
