Today, I face a heartbreak as a beloved favorite, the Girl Scout s'mores cookies, is being retired. I shed tears for the warm memories and unifying experiences that are cultivated around these cookies - a testament to their significance beyond just being a delightful treat.

The Girl Scout s'mores cookies were first introduced years ago, quickly becoming a favorite among Girl Scouts and cookie lovers nationwide. They are a delicious blend of crispy graham cracker, creamy chocolate, and delicious marshmallow, forming a true S’more right out of the box.

Discontinuing the Girl Scout s'mores would not only disrupt a longstanding tradition but also eliminate an essential part of our Girl Scout experience. These cookies have been an avenue for fostering entrepreneurship in young girls, as they learn about setting goals and managing money through cookie sales. Last year alone, the sale of these cookies contributed to over 10% of the total cookies sold! Eliminating them will have an evident impact on the opportunities and funds available to scouts nationwide.
