As residents of Norwell Community Schools, we have experienced firsthand the effects of Superintendent Mike Springer's leadership. Our community has suffered under his tenure, with a significant loss of administration, teachers, staff and students to neighboring corporations. This is not just about numbers; it's about the quality of education and environment for our children.

Under Mr. Springer's leadership, our schools have seen a decline in morale and trust amongst staff members and within our community. A culture of fear and mistrust has been cultivated rather than one that fosters growth, collaboration, and respect.

We are not alone in this sentiment; many others within Wells County share our concerns. The impact on our children’s education is too important to ignore or leave unaddressed.

Therefore, we urge the NWCS board of trustees to consider these experiences when deciding on Mr. Springer’s contract renewal for January 2025. The board has until June 30, 2024 to inform him if they will renew his contract. We believe that Norwell Community Schools deserve better leadership - one that builds trust within its staff members and prioritizes student welfare above all else.
