Prevent the Queensland Government from Banning the American Pitbull Terrier

Prevent the Queensland Government from Banning the American Pitbull Terrier

The issue

As a responsible and loving owner of an American Pitbull Terrier, I am deeply concerned about the Queensland Government's proposed ban on this breed. Contrary to popular belief, Pitbulls are not inherently dangerous or aggressive dogs. In fact, they consistently rank high on personality tests, often outperforming other breeds in terms of friendliness and loyalty.

The real issue at hand is not the breed itself but rather irresponsible ownership and crossbreeding practices. These factors can lead to behavioral problems in any dog breed, not just Pitbulls. It is unfair to punish all owners for the actions of a few.

According to data from The American Temperament Test Society (ATTS), American Pit Bull Terriers have a temperament passing rate of 87.4%, which is higher than popular breeds such as Golden Retrievers (85.6%) or Beagles (80%). This statistic clearly demonstrates that banning an entire breed based on misconceptions and fear is unjustified.

We urge the Queensland Government to reconsider their stance on this issue and instead focus their efforts on promoting responsible pet ownership across all breeds rather than singling out one unfairly.

Please sign our petition if you believe in fair treatment for all dog breeds and want to prevent this ban from being implemented.
