Prevent the parole of Gary June Caughron Parole Hearing 05/31/2023 TOMIS # 00122094

The Issue

Gary June Caughron was convicted of the brutal murder, aggraveted assault, and sexual battery of a young woman in 1987. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole. Now he is up for parole. We cannot let him walk free.

Caughron's crime was heinous and premeditated. He tortured, assaulted, and murdered his victim in a cold-blooded manner. Despite her pleas for her life, he tightend the strips of cloth tighter around her neck. He rubbed her blood on himself. He rubbed her blood on his accomplice. They then had sex on the floor below her. For detailed information go to JUSTIA.COM

His actions were not those of someone who can be rehabilitated or trusted to re-enter society.

Statistics show that these types of offenders are considered too dangerous to be released and pose a significant risk to the public.

Allowing Caughron to be paroled would send a message that violent crimes against women are not taken seriously enough by our justice system. It would also put other women at risk if he were allowed back into society.

We urge the parole board not to grant Gary June Caughron's release from prison and keep him behind bars where he belongs.
