In these challenging times of a rising cost of living, I, along with many others in our community, depend greatly on our local library. For us, it serves as a pure symbol of educational freedom. Many among our community cannot afford the extra expense of traveling to nearby towns to access library services should ours close. We also have a very poor public transport system for those who dont drive. Our local library is part of our school community and a vital service that cannot be replaced. It is crucial to remember that libraries provide access to an invaluable cultural wealth that levels the educational playing field, particularly for those who cannot afford books or internet services. Closure of our library essentially excludes this group from a vital source of information.  Accordingly, we urge our local council to see the indispensable value our library brings to our community and reconsider its plans for closure.
