We, the parents of children studying at Prien Lake Elementary, are deeply concerned about the proposed construction of a high-traffic drive-through restaurant directly across our children's school

Our close-knit community enjoys the peace that our unique environment provides, and our children attend Prien lake elementary and walk home.This tranquility and security are now under threat by this proposed construction. Our fears are not unfounded. Research shows that a high number of fast-food outlets in an area increases the risk of pedestrian accidents, particularly among children. Adding to our worries, Nelson Road during school drop-off and pick-up hours are already congested, risking our children's safety. The restaurant's opening will exacerbate the traffic situation and augment the chance of accidents.

We plead with the zoning authority not to permit the construction of a high-traffic facility like a drive-through restaurant in the midst of a school zone and a residential area. Prioritize our children's safety over commercial interests. Do not let this serene community where children safely play in the open be razed away by commercial ventures.
