Prevent the Construction of a BJs Wholesale Club in Beachwalk and Twin Creek North

The Issue

As residents of Beachwalk for 4 years, we moved here with our five children, drawn by the promise of a serene neighborhood that would provide an ideal environment for our family. However, this dream is under threat due to plans to construct a BJs Wholesale Club within our community. This development not only disrupts the theme and aesthetics we were sold on but also raises serious concerns about safety, traffic congestion and potential depreciation in property values.

The proposed location for this wholesale club is within close proximity to residential areas where children play and families live their daily lives. The increase in traffic could pose significant safety risks.

Furthermore, studies have shown that commercial developments can negatively impact residential property values. A report by the Appraisal Institute suggests that homes located near commercial properties often see decreased value due to factors such as noise pollution and increased traffic.

We understand that businesses like BJs Wholesale Club can contribute positively towards local economies through job creation. However, we believe there are alternative locations better suited for such establishments which won't disrupt residential communities like ours.

We urge St Johns County officials to reconsider this decision and protect our neighborhood's integrity. Let's ensure Beachwalk reaches its highest potential as a safe, peaceful community – not just another commercial hub. Please sign this petition if you share our concerns.
