As a longtime resident of Malta, Montana, I've witnessed the immense importance of our local city pool. It an essential part of our community and offers much-needed summer activities for people of all ages. Its impending closure threatens not only our recreational activities but also the social and physical health benefits that residents have come to rely on.

I need to bring attention to the fact that closing the pool will leave a void in our community summer activities. This pool is not simply a leisure facility; it offers much-needed respite during the hot summer months and is a hub for community interaction. Furthermore, according to the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), swimming is the fourth most popular sports activity in the U.S. and a good way to get regular aerobic physical activity, which promotes physical and mental health.

This pool holds a special place in my heart and the hearts of many in Malta. We ask local authorities to reconsider this decision and work with us to find alternative solutions to keep our city pool open.
