Prevent the Closure of the Beech River Cultural Museum in Lexington, Tennessee

Prevent the Closure of the Beech River Cultural Museum in Lexington, Tennessee

The Issue

As a beloved member of the Lexington community since May 18 th 1980 , I am moved to start this petition due to a personal connection with the Beech River Cultural Museum – a connection rooted in the military service of my grandfather, a World War II veteran from Lexington. My grandfather was a Purple Heart recipient, and his medals and significant contributions to our freedom proudly take their place in the museum's display – a testament to the bravery of our town’s heroes.

Moreover, the Beech River Cultural Museum does more than just showcase the valor of Lexington's war veterans. It is effectively a living testimony to the history and tradition of Lexington, Tennessee and Henderson County. Seated at our old post office, it is a location where locals have gathered to watch the Christmas tree light up season after season, a symbol of our town's unity and spirit.

By losing the museum, we risk losing a critical part of our rich heritage. Lexington holds many gems, and the Beech River Cultural Museum is one of the most precious. More than that, it is an honor and a privilege, a constant reminder of the valiant service our predecessors offered in the name of our nation.

Let us secure the future of the Beech River Cultural Museum. Let us keep the light of our history, culture, and community spirit undimmed for the future generations to remember and cherish. Now is the time for us to act; sign this petition and join the fight to prevent the closure of our beloved museum.
