The Issue

As a devoted employee at the Staples store in Monument, Colorado, I am deeply concerned about the potential loss of jobs that many of my colleagues and I face due to the potential closure of our store. Having served the local community tirelessly, the imminent closure threatens not just our livelihood, but also the access to vital office supplies and services for local businesses, schools, and residents.

We estimate that more than 20 employees, including myself, will directly face unemployment if the store closes. These are people with families to support, bills to pay, and dreams to chase. To uproot our source of stability seems unjust and inconsiderate.

This is not only about the employees affected. Our customers, who over the years have come to rely on our proficient services and extensive product range, will also feel the impact. Our Staples store serves an average of 500 customers per day. With the closure, they will not only lose a trusted provider, but could also face increased costs and difficulty in procuring necessary items.

We urge those in decision-making capacities, to consider alternatives, such as replacing or downsizing, rather than completely shutting down. Save our Staples in Monument, for the sake of its devoted employees, faithful customers, and the community we serve.

Remember, your voice can make a difference. Sign the petition to protect our livelihoods and keep our community serviced.
