Prevent the closure of our cherished St Clare's Early Learning Centre
The issue
My heart aches at the thought of losing St Clare's Early Learning Centre, the only one of its kind in our area. As a parent with a child already enrolled, I have witnessed first hand the nurturing environment it provides for our young ones. This institution is not just a place for education; it is a community that supports moral development alongside academic learning.
The decision to close this kindergarten would result in a significant loss to our community. Our kindergarten is uniquely positioned to offer a curriculum that integrates faith-based values with early childhood education, providing a foundation that many parents in our community deeply value. For many families, the kindergarten is the perfect blend of spirituality and academics that we desire for our children’s formative years.
The loss of the centre itself would not only be a great loss but to loose such amazing educators who have become such an important figure not only in my childrens lives but many of the children who have attended the centre over the years. They truely care about every child who walks through those doors each morning and have helped in the development beyond words.
Closing the kindergarten would force families to seek alternatives that may not align with their values or be located inconveniently, leading to disruptions for our children during their formative years. This sudden closure affects not just the currently enrolled families but those who had hoped to enroll their children in the coming years.
Let's urge the decision-makers to reconsider their decision. Idealy I would love to see the kinder keep its doors open for as many years as possible. At the very least keep the doors open one more year to allow the 3 year olds who currently attend to finish off their kinder years at a centre they know and love.
