Prevent the Closure of Aspley Library

The Issue

I have fond memories of visiting Aspley Library as a child, taking great pleasure in spending quiet hours in its calming atmosphere. This library has stood for many years, serving as a valuable asset to our community in Nottingham. Now, we face the threat of losing this precious institution.

Aspley Library is not just a building; it's a beacon of knowledge and culture that has nurtured countless minds over the years. Libraries are vital for communities; they provide access to books and resources that many people would not otherwise be able to afford or access (CILIP, UK's library and information association). The closure of this library would mean depriving our community members from these essential services.

Moreover, libraries play an important role in promoting literacy among children and adults alike (National Literacy Trust). By closing Aspley Library, we risk increasing literacy issues within our community.

We urge local authorities to reconsider their decision on closing Aspley Library. Let us preserve this cornerstone of our community for future generations who deserve the same opportunities we had growing up. Please sign this petition to show your support against the closure.
