Devon County Council have stated in February 2020, in writing, that once they have adopted "Swallow Way (North)" in Cullompton (the new section of Swallow Way through the Kingfisher Reach development) from David Wilson Homes, they plan to place double yellow lines along parts of Swallow Way so that it can become the part of the bus route through Cullompton. This will be in place of the current route through Langlands Road, and will include the Stagecoach double-decker buses. Having Swallow Way (North) road through the Kingfisher Reach residential area used as a bus route and Distributor Road will:

• Be dangerous given the lack of distance from the road to people's front doors.
• Significantly magnify the already dangerous situation of cars and lorries speeding through Swallow Way, using it as a short-cut.
• Will also cause significant disruption and major issues for the residents of Swallow Way who need to park their cars on Swallow Way.

Had the developer, David Wilson Homes, built the houses on Swallow Way with a larger gap between the houses and the road, sufficient parking and garages (as they did for Langlands Road when that was built) then the planned change of bus route would not present such a dangerous situation. As it stands, it is simply not an option to place double yellow lines on Swallow Way, nor for double-decker buses to navigate through our quiet, built-up residential area.
