Prevent the approval of the proposed SunSage Terrace PUD (planned unit development)
The Issue
I am a resident of Grantsville, UT, and I have seen our city's character change drastically over the years. The large acre lots that once were defined by our city are being replaced by high-density developments. One such development (and there are more) is the proposed SunSage Terrace PUD (planned unit development). This project bypasses current zoning regulations for 1/2 acre lots and allows for high-density units under its Master Development Agreement.
The approval of SunSage Terrace PUD sets a dangerous precedent that could encourage other developers to follow suit, further eroding our city's unique charm. We must not allow this proposal and demand that zoning regulations be respected.
Please sign this petition if you share these concerns about preserving the character of Grantsville by stopping the approval of SunSage Terrace PUD before May 31st.

The city council will be voting on the "Sun Sage Terrace Phases 3-5" at approximately 700 West Main Street with 97.81 acres of property to the north of main street. This area is currently zoned under the Residential District, R-1-21, ½ acre zoning district and they want to change it to high density housing. Link to proposal by Sun Sage
This trend is not just altering our landscape; it's changing the very nature of our community. High-density housing can lead to increased traffic, strain on public services, and a decrease in property values. According to data from the U.S Census Bureau, Grantsville has experienced a population growth rate of 67% since 2000. With this rapid growth comes an urgent need to manage development responsibly.
Our beautiful city deserves better than this. Let us preserve what makes Grantsville special - its open spaces and low density living environment - for future generations to enjoy as well.
