The Issue
The constant reports of the loss of human lives in Gaza, and now southern Lebanon, deeply unsettle me. Any move toward merging the American military with Israel's could only exacerbate this crisis. The United States continues to fund Israel, which, in turn, has been accused of committing acts of genocide in Gaza for several years. As American citizens, we cannot stand by and allow our resources to support actions that result in such significant loss and hardship for Palestinians.
The Israeli Zionists leading their government appear intent on territorial expansion, often displaying little regard for international borders. Such ambitions not only foster instability in the region but also threaten to draw the United States into conflicts that do not serve our national interest. We risk diverting American lives and taxpayer dollars to endeavors that are morally and strategically unsound.
The merging of American and Israeli military forces would further entrench this dangerous alliance. This proposal will undoubtedly lead to increased arms sales, which are ultimately funded by U.S. taxpayers. Instead of perpetuating violence through the sponsorship of additional military hardware, Americans should demand a pivot toward peace and diplomacy.
