As a long-time resident of Greenview Ave, I have witnessed firsthand the growing challenges faced by our community. We are already struggling with persistent issues such as security, parking, and noise in this corner of the city. The introduction of two new large development projects on Hendon Ave threatens to exacerbate these existing problems and further strain our beloved neighborhood.

The first proposed development, a 46-story RENTAL building by Hendon II Rosseau GP Inc., is slated to rise at 30-36 Hendon. Alarming as it is, the plan only provides for 47 parking spaces on Hendon Ave, a narrow street where parking is already heavily restricted. Simultaneously, an 11-story building by Bousfields Inc. aims to add additional density with only 45 parking spaces, adjacent to Hendon Park.

This overzealous development scheme will overcrowd Newtonbrook West, causing drastic changes in the demographics of our peaceful and lovely neighborhood. It risks transforming our quiet residential area into a densely populated zone, bringing with it increased traffic congestion, heightened noise levels, and further parking difficulties.

Moreover, with an increased population, there is a likely rise in security concerns and elevated crime rates. This shift not only impacts the quality of life for current residents but also diminishes our sense of safety and community.

We urge local authorities to reconsider the approval of these projects. Our neighborhood deserves thoughtful, sustainable development that respects the character and needs of current residents. Our infrastructure is not prepared for such a large influx of residents without significant negative repercussions.
