As a devoted Christian following the peaceful teachings of Jesus, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent global political maneuvers involving our country and Israel. It's our sovereign right to govern our nation independently, free from intertwining alliances that only seem to bring heartache and suffering.

Our tax dollars should be nurturing peace, supporting education, healthcare, and infrastructure within our own borders, not financing wars that contravene our nation's ethos of justice and morality. By combining military resources with another nation, especially in areas fraught with socio-political complexities, we undermine our autonomy and risk losing sight of our independence in decision-making.

It's crucial for our leaders to clearly reflect the will and moral compass of their constituents. We must urge them not to proceed with any military consolidation nor to support actions that perpetuate conflicts in the Middle East. As citizens, it is our responsibility to ensure that our nation stands for what is right, just, and aligned with the values we hold dear.
