Prevent Judge Jay Daniel from Discussing Unrelated Cases in Open Court

The Issue

My story begins with a pending case, unrelated to the one being heard in Municipal Judge Jay Daniel's court. However, this has not stopped Judge Daniel from discussing his personal opinion of my personal pending case openly and using his opinion of me and my case to judge my daughter, who is the defendant in his court. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also an infringement on our rights to a fair trial.
He is also not qualified or licensed as a mental health professional to diagnose me or my daughteras a drug addict or anything else for that matter.
San Angelo, Texas prides itself on upholding justice and fairness within its judicial system. Yet, we find ourselves facing a situation where these principles are being compromised by one of its own judges. It's important to note that according to the American Bar Association's Model Code of Judicial Conduct Rule 2.10(A), "A judge shall not make any public statement that might reasonably be expected to affect the outcome or impair the fairness of a matter pending or impending in any court."

Judge Jay Daniel’s actions are contrary to this rule and have resulted in an unfair treatment for my daughter and me. We believe it is crucial for our community's trust in our legal system that judges adhere strictly to their code of conduct.

We urge you all - residents of San Angelo - who believe strongly in justice and fair play, join us as we call upon higher judicial authorities for an immediate investigation into Judge Jay Daniel’s conduct during trials.

Please sign this petition if you stand with us against such misuse of power within our judiciary system.
