I am reaching out to you because I need your help to protect a small, beautiful corner of the world that I call home—Jenkins Township, Pennsylvania. It does include Plains twp for theyre adjacent to us on this mountain. This township has been my family’s cherished home for four generations, and now my son represents the fifth. We have always enjoyed the tranquility, clean air, and stunning natural landscapes that include waterfalls, creeks, lakes, and beautiful mountainous terrains.

But now, our serene environment is at risk. PP&L and Blackstone, a foreign entity, are planning to use eminent domain to build a massive power source across the street from my quiet little home. If that wasn't enough, there are plans to establish a data center right behind my property, as the town has indicated it's the only suitable location. This twin development would not only alter our peaceful neighborhood but would also trap my home between these industrial giants, affecting our way of life drastically.

Jenkins Township is a small town with less than 5,000 residents. We cherish the peace and natural beauty that has been the backdrop of our lives for generations. The proposed development threatens to disrupt this delicate balance, exposing us to noise pollution, environmental hazards, and increased stress that industrial facilities inherently bring.

We understand the need for development, but it must be done with the community's well-being in mind. Jenkins Township’s charm lies in its natural beauty and tight-knit community. Inviting large corporate entities to strip it away threatens not only the environment but also our heritage and the future tranquility for generations to come.

We propose exploring alternative locations for the power source and data center, away from residential areas, or utilizing existing infrastructures outside Jenkins Township that will not infringe upon the quality of life or the environment. We implore the town officials to conduct thorough environmental impact assessments and consult with residents to find a sensible solution.

We must act now to preserve the character and tranquility of Jenkins Township. I know the heart of our community is strong, and together, we can make our voices heard and protect our home.
