We, the concerned citizens of Cheraw, SC, USA, are deeply troubled by the prospect of Dr. Chauncey Malachi serving as principal at our local high school. Our fears stem from personal experiences that have left us feeling unsafe and threatened under his watch.

As students and parents alike, we have experienced firsthand how his leadership has put hundreds of students in danger. There were instances when we felt fear for our lives during school hours - a time when safety should be guaranteed above all else.

According to a study by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), effective leadership is crucial for creating safe learning environments in schools. Yet under Dr. Malachi's administration, this fundamental requirement seems to be grossly overlooked.

We believe that every student deserves an environment conducive to learning - one where they feel secure and protected rather than living in constant fear for their safety.

We urge those responsible for appointing school principals in Cheraw High School to reconsider their decision regarding Dr. Chauncey Malachi’s appointment based on these concerns raised by us – the very people who will be directly affected by this decision.
