Prevent Commercial Development on Our Quiet Residential Street

Prevent Commercial Development on Our Quiet Residential Street
The Issue
Members of the Cordesville Community (especially those living on Umbria Road, Hard Pinch Road and nearby), the landowner of 1193 Umbria Road (TMS #164-00-03-005) has requested a hearing to develop and operate a commercial event venue.
Many of us have memories of the rodeo on April 2, 2023 (Sunday) and another event held at 1193 Umbria Rd on June 3, 2023. There was music being played so loudly that our windows and walls were shaking. There were hundreds of people gathered for a rodeo event and the music went on until the early morning hours. If this request is granted, this could become a regular occurrence doing nothing other than disturbing our peaceful, quiet community.
If you want to maintain our neighborhood's peace and quiet, please take a moment to sign this petition.
The Berkeley County Board of Zoning Appeals will have a hearing Tuesday, May 21st at 6pm at the Berkeley County Administration Building (1003 N. Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC)
Cordesville, SC, is a peaceful residential area cherished by its residents for its tranquility and community spirit. However, this peace is under threat due to a landowner's proposal to develop and operate a commercial event venue in our neighborhood. This development could significantly increase noise levels, traffic, and potentially decrease property values in our area. (According to the National Association of Realtors (2019), such developments can lead to an average 8-12% decrease in nearby home values) Furthermore, the increased traffic could pose safety risks for children and pedestrians alike. We must preserve the character of our community and ensure that it remains a safe place for all residents. We urge local authorities in Berkeley County to reject this commercial development proposal on our quiet residential street. Please sign this petition if you share these concerns about preserving the peace and safety of our neighborhood.
