Dear Sammamish neighbor,
Tonight there is a city council meeting at 6:30pm at City Hall where you can give verbal comment on why the city should not approve the 2000 additional units at the Town Center. The public comment period for the draft SEIS is only open until July 9th.
We should not take it for granted that we live in a place where people are allowed to share their opinions with their local government. Your voice matters, just like every other resident. We have the right to tell our elected officials that we want our city to grow responsibly, and that we are concerned about the traffic getting worse, or our kids' schools getting more crowded.
Our infrastructure isn’t equipped to handle 4000 more households in the middle of 228th. Traffic is already challenging- just try to find parking on Wednesdays during the farmer’s market. LWSD schools are overcrowded; Eastlake HS and Inglewood MS are way over max capacity. High density buildings will cause irreversible damage to our natural environment and change the overall character of our town.
We’re proud to be ranked #11 of top cities to live in the US and want to keep it that way.
Once the city council votes to approve the additional units, there’s no going back.
