The Issue

I've always believed in the importance and significance of the national days we observe. They reflect the values and ideals we hold dear as a society. I've been inspired throughout my life by authentic heroes, individuals who have dedicated their lives to meaningful causes and have positively impacted our world. This is why it is deeply concerning to me to learn about the petition to declare a national day for Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk, though a known figure in the political landscape, does not represent the values and accomplishments traditionally deserving of a national day. National days should honor those who have made indisputable contributions to our country, those united by the pursuit of equality, justice, progress, and peace. Awarding such an honor recklessly undermines the purpose and integrity of our national days.

Our national heroes have historically been individuals who have dedicated their lives to service, betterment of society, and who are recognized for their positive influence and unifying presence. It's crucial that we preserve the sanctity of these celebrations and reserve them for those who truly deserve them.

The creation of such a day should be reserved for individuals who inspire virtues, patriotism, and unity in our communities. I urge those who propose this petition to reconsider the message it sends and the dangerous precedent it could set. By signing this petition, you are making a statement to protect the values enshrined in our national days and only bestow such recognition to deserving individuals.

Join me in standing for what’s right, upholding the values we cherish, and ensuring our national days continue to represent the highest standards of societal achievement. Sign this petition and let’s keep our celebrations meaningful and honorable.
