Bartle Hall, Lower Bartle and Salwick faces a huge housing invasion

The Issue

More than 1,100 homes are earmarked for farmland around picturesque Bartle Hall near Preston according to plans.

The houses would leave the enchanted award-winning 17th century Bartle Hall and its 16 acres of picturesque gardens and woodlands encircled by housing estates.

The area is already subject to major disruption with the current set of developments and is likely to bring much more for years. We have already seen some of the beautiful trees removed for the new road network, all totally unnecessary. Preston does not need any more homes and its our belief that this planning application contravenes the current proposals.

The area cannot cope with 1100 more homes, there is already an abundance of unsold properties in the area. The development will detract from the beautiful countryside in that area, affect Bartle Hall as a venue for weddings and have a major impact on those who moved to that area for a piece of countryside and peace as well as the untold impact on wildlife.

Preston needs investment in the inner city not in the rural areas that surround it.

There is only one solution and that is to have this current proposal rejected and I appeal to everybody that has a sense of decency and good judgment to sign this petition to have this stopped and/or log a formal objection with ref to planning application 06/2020/0566. Together we can make a difference.

Keep safe and well.
