A call for the University of Oregon to remove Dutch Bros. from Autzen and campus.

A call for the University of Oregon to remove Dutch Bros. from Autzen and campus.
The Issue
Dear President Schill & Athletic Director Mullens,
We call for the University of Oregon to take immediate action by cutting all ties with Dutch Bros. A business that views the support of Black Lives as a political statement and not a just call for equity is not a business that should have access to a campus and institution that celebrates and welcomes diversity.
Dutch Bros. Founder Travis Boersma said in a press release back in June of 2019 that “Dutch Bros. doesn’t take political stances.” He has wrongfully backed this statement up by asking Dutch Bros. associates to remove all Black Lives Matter signs from their Eugene locations (and others).
Supporting the Black Lives Matter movement is not a political statement. Rather, it is saying that you wish to dismantle a system that was built with White Supremacy as its foundation. A system that disproportionately impacts the Black community in a negative and lethal way.
I am certain that University of Oregon can find a vendor that will stand for the rights of all students, coaches, employees, and members of the Eugene community. The Black community is a beautiful and rich contributor to Eugene. All should be standing with them and not distancing themselves from this just fight. Staying neutral when it comes to racism is how it lives on and the act itself is racist. Now is not the time for neutrality. There is too much at stake.
Please hear this call from the global Duck community to take action. Remove Dutch Bros. from the University of Oregon. Support the Black Lives Matter movement. Be on the right side of history.
As has been said in the past: Be True. Be Oregon.
