There are a lot of updates:
1. I have sent an email to Dean Elmore (Dean of Students) about the petition, multiple possible options for a Pass/Fail program, and a list of other universities who have already switched (colleges that have switched: https://bit.ly/CollegesPF - if people could help update this it would be very appreciated)
2. I can genuinely say that the Administration is addressing our concerns and will most likely make a decision very shortly. Multiple sources have told me they are taking student input on the issue. People who know me personally have cited the petition and I am grateful for all the help. If you are asked for your opinion on the issue please help me fight for the Carnegie Mellon University's P/F plan. They approved a Pass/Fail optional program where after grades are released (on your transcript) you have 7 days to decide if you want to make that class Pass/Fail. I am all for this plan - I will be fighting for it first and as a fallback use the petition plan.
3. On Monday, if this is not resolved by then, I will be asking for Student Government approval on the petition. Student Government doesn't have the ability to mandate the program, but hopefully if the show support it'll show Administration we have student approval on the optional Pass/Fail program.
4. Please only sign the petition if you are a student or Faculty member (my heartfelt thank you goes to all the professors who have signed this! I have gotten a lot of photos of them supporting the petition and sharing it with their students). As much as I would love friends of other colleges to sign, I really want to showcase an accurate representation.
5. I spoke with The Daily Free Press, as suggested, about the petition and they are hopefully releasing an article about it soon.
