1. We finally got a shoutout on The Daily Free Press (big thank you to Ellie she has always so nice to me and deserves a huge hug, after COVID19, for helping promote the survey)

2. I've seen a ton of Professors supporting P/F and telling their classes about the petition! I really appreciate Professors being understanding in a pandemic and if you want: please tell your students to tell me what classes you teach because you deserve a shoutout!

3. I have heard about multiple Faculty meetings, Dean meetings, and heard rumors they may be making an announcement tomorrow about all of this. Please remember: this is just a rumor. Hopefully we hear something, and hopefully it is what we have been petitioning for. 

4. A few days ago, I created an unofficial (not affiliated with BU Administration) survey to get concrete statistics on what students actually want BU to do with regards to grading. In the survey, I included the "A/A-" program just to be fair but I personally don't see BU going for it - here is a link to that petition though. Over 2,700+ students have taken the survey and I think that's a good sample size to make comments on. (I don't have a Ph.D in statistics so these are just my interpretations - also, I included images)

- #8 (A/A-) was by far the most popular and most debated; with 60% putting it their top choice but 20% as their 8th.

- #1, 2, 3, and 4, (Optional P/F variants) were statistically ranked higher in preference than #5, 6, and 7 (Mandatory P/F variants).

- #1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 had the lowest means (meaning ranked most preferred) with a mean of 3.56, 2.79, 4.54, 5.29, and 2.74 respectively.

- #5, 6, and 7 had higher means (meaning ranked least preferred) with a mean of 5.49, 5.78, 6.01 respectively.

- If we were to make an order of what students want for Spring 2020 grading it would be: 8, 2, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9

- 8 (A/A-), 2 (Opt. P/F 7 days after grades come out), 1 (Opt. P/F last day of classes), 3 (Opt. P/F 3 weeks after decision), 4 (Opt. P/F with a max), 5 (Mandatory P/F), 6 (Mandatory opt-out program), 7 (Mandatory "Unlock" passes after), 9

5. Whatever happens with regards to grading, and whatever side of P/F you are on (i.e. Mandatory or Optional), please spread love and kindness. COVID-19 is affect a large majority of our BU family emotionally, physically, mentally, and/or financially, and this is not a time for hatred, racism, or xenophobia. Help others out (at a safe distance without spreading the disease), be kind to others, and wash your hands! :)
