We all know that reckless driving happens everyday, and a result is an innocent person is hurt, then there families and friends all have to go through that news. I'm going to be talking about one major story, the 2018 Bayshore street-racing crash. Cameron Herrin and his friend John Barrineau were street racing along Tampa's Bayshore in 2018, one car going 102 miles per hour, then "BOOM" they crashed into a mother and daughter. Peacefully walking down the sidewalk, the mother was only 24 years old but was killed in the crash. The 21 month-old daughter was injured badly, and later died in a hospital. They both had just started out there lives, and they were doing normal things people do during the day. However there lives ended due to the thoughtlessness of these drivers, then 3 years later. In April of 2021 Cameron Herrin finally goes to court, he gets sentenced to only 24 years. Not only was he reckless driving, but killed 2 people as a result. 24 years is not long, and I can't imagine how there family must've thought when they heard how long he was only getting. Reckless driving needs to be put to a stop, there are so many more stories about people getting killed due to reckless and distracted driving.
