This is to bring to the attention of the world and the international community the plight of the Bakassi refugees in appalling living conditions from when the Nigerian government handed the Bakassi Peninsula over to the Cameroon government. The indigenes of Bakassi are yet to be resettled; they get very little or no relief even when huge funds have been raised on their behalf over the years. They were due to be resettled in Dayspring island in southern Nigeria but since the discovery of oil and gas reserves in geological studies conducted by some government agencies, the resettlement process has been stalled for obvious reasons.
