Raise Age of Adulthood to 25

The Issue

It has become readily apparent that young people today are not maturing at the rate of previous generations. Because of this they have not developed the ability to be responsible for their actions and we should raise the age of adulthood to 25, where most agree that the brain finally becomes fully developed. This law would require one to be at least 25 in order to be eligible vote, to legally purchase and consume alcohol and tobacco products, to purchase and possess a firearm, to apply for a driver's license, and to enter into contracts. Those of the age of 18 or above upon completion of basic training as part of military service and a member in good standing in the military would be exempted from this law.
