Respected Sir,

We, the former students of the Department of History, Scottish Church College, humbly draw your attention to the unusual situation of our college in the recent past in which one of our esteemed teachers, a well-known name in the circle of History,  has been defamed and maligned.

Recently, the Students’ Union of Scottish Church College slandered the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) through distasteful graphic posters alleging the IQAC for malpractices in the admission process of the current academic year. Our teacher, Dr. Supratim Das, being the Coordinator of the Cell, is accused of admission related irregularities in a very subtle but indirect way. We, his former students and of the college as a whole, strongly believe that these are absolutely false allegations purposely constructed to give him a bad name.

In view of this, we earnestly appeal to you to arrange for an open forum in the college in presence of the whole teaching faculty and the student community of the college where the responsible representatives of the Students’ Union will have to produce concrete evidences to substantiate their allegations. If they fail to do this, we demand that they have to give public apology to the college as well as the teacher(s) they have maligned.
