Jallikkattu : Mr. President, prevent racial discrimination against Tamils !!
The Issue

To
The President of India,
New Delhi.
Sir,
Sub: Jallikkattu- Rights of Tamils targeted and denied - Atrocities of racist Peta - Petition - submitted.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you are aware of the ongoing, day-and-night long struggle in Alanaganallur by independent Tamil youth.
Day & Night long struggle:
The reaction of the Police department of Tamilnadu is simply shocking. They approach the issue as if an invading army puts up siege against the forts and cities of the natives. The police does not allow the Tamils of other villages to enter into Alanaganallur. They prevented the locals from supplying even drinking water to the participants, all day long. It was only late night that the participants got some food supplied.
Jallikkattu celebrated in Andhra Pradesh:
There had been unnecessary lathi charge on the youth at various places. All this, while Jallikkattu has been celebrated with gusto in Andhrapradesh yesterday, the 16th January 2017.
The politicians who are in the governance of Tamilnadu are being threatened by the BJP’s lumpen elements like Mr. Subramaniam Samy, who calls Tamils as Porukkis and ridicules Pongal itself, infuriating all Tamils. He says that there would be imposed President’s Rule in Tamil Nadu, if Jallikkattu takes place there. At the same time, the BJP’s State President Ms. Thamizhisai is mouthing homilies and advises the participants to disburse without answering why her party’s government at the Centre is adhering to one policy in Andhra Pradesh and another in Tamlnadu.
It is true that there is meaning in the fear of the rulers of Tamilnadu that their power would be snatched away by the Centre and President’s Rule would be imposed, if they permit Jallikkattu, although it has not been imposed so in Andhra Pradesh.
Selective discrimination of Tamils for the past 60 years:
Because, the history of the past 60 years testify to the fact that Tamilnadu had alone been discriminated and ill-treated by the Centre.
For example,
(1) while the Centre entered into lease agreement with Bangladesh in 1974 over TinBigha islands, it chose to handover the entire Kachativu itself to Sri Lanka, causing the death of more than 700 Tamils by the bullets of the foreign army.
(2) The Centre had adopted two different yardsticks in the sharing of river water in Cauvery. What was followed for Godavari and Krishna was not followed for Tamilnadu.
(3) While the indentured Biharis in Fiji were protected by the Centre, such treatment was not meted out the indentured Tamils who were in Sri Lanka from 1830s and who enjoyed representation by 40 MPs in Lankan Parliament were allowed by the Centre to be made stateless and lakhs repatriated. This, while Ms. Sonia Gandhi could become a citizen of India in 1984 and become the virtual ruler for more than 10 years from 2004 to 2014,
(4) What was followed by the Centre for Bangladesh was not followed for Eelam and an inhuman genocide of native Tamils of Eelam was caused to be committed by the Centre on Lankan soil.
(5) In regard to the setting up of atomic plants in Koodangulam, the Centre chose to run away when Ms. Mamata Banerjee threatened against Haripur project and set up that one also at Koodankulam.
Blackmailing tendency of Central agencies:
There are various instances of this kind, like GAIL acquisition ( in which what was followed in Kerala and Karnataka are deliberately violated in Tamilnadu,) Methane, Neutrino, where Tamils are treated as insects by the Centre. All this gives the impression that Tamils are there not as citizens with equal rights in India but only as menials at the mercy of the Centre. It is true that the politicians of various hues in Tamilnadu were also strengthening this perception, by their servile attitudes. They, because of their weakness in various spheres in governing the State, became victims to the habitual blackmailing tactics of the bureaucrats of RAW and IB. This is going on for the past 60 years.
Jallikkattu is a sport and there is no torture:
In regard to Jallikkattu, it is not intended to torture the animals as projected by the racist Peta. It was conducted with proper monitoring by the Government of Tamilnadu. There is, therefore, no reason to invent a torture that was not there. But, the Gujarati Kite Festival results in thousands of birds getting caught in the thread and killed for months after the festival. The racist Peta has not gone to any court on this issue. The recent order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court that stays using Manja is welcome. But, it has not banned the entire Kite Festival of Gujarat. But, it Tamilnadu entire Jallikkattu has been banned. Strange justice, indeed !
Judiciary traversing beyond judicial limits:
Adding insult to the injury, Their Lordships had passed unwarranted comments that “in this world of computers, it is better to play Jallikkattu on computer”. Their Lordships have exceeded their judicial limits to pass such comments and give unsolicited advice that borders on the ridicule of Tamil tradition of thousands of years. They ridicule the celebrated literature of Tamils. Will Their Lordships pass such comments against the Gujarathi Kite festival that kills birds for months and advise the Gujarathis to go for computer game for kite flying? Will Their Lordships pass such comments against the usage of silk cloth in temple worship, as such clothes are made by killing thousand of silkworms?
Did they know the fact that Jallikkattu has its origin of thousands of years? Even the literature Kalithohai of pre-600 AD celebrates so much about it.
Origin of Jallikkattu:
Manjuvirattu / Eru Thazhuval / Jallikkattu had originated as a time-pass among the youth of the Mullai land, when they used to take the cattle for grazing everyday. In those days only cattle was considered as wealth and the extent of one’s possession of cattle determined his status in society. Everyman was required to possess the ability to control his cattle. Soon it developed as a Sports. It had been given exalted status in Tamil literature (especially Kaliththohai) for the valour and strength of the lads. When I am not ready to participate in Manjuvirattu, I cannot say that the game must be promoted, when my own Tamil brethren get injured. But, in Manjuvirattu only those who are prepared to face the negative consequences also, participate. Others simply stand aside and watch as spectators. If one does not like the game, he is free not to go to the the spot.
Gujarat festival kills birds for months:
But, what about the 'tradition' of Gujarat where people fly kites in January every year?. How many people get killed every year? Even people, who do not celebrate that festival, cannot walk on the streets safely for a week, without fear. There is more and stronger case for banning the Gujarat kite flying festival that kills birds in hordes. Apart from regular birds like sparrows, pigeons, crows, some exotic birds, who have migrated from far off places across the world, also get entangled in the web of thread and loose their lives. But, just because it is a north Indian festival, Peta, the opponents of Tamils, are afraid of even talking against it. The PETA, declared as a terrorist organisation by the Department of Agriculture in USA is in the forefront to ban Jallikkattu in Tamilnadu.
Peta is racist and terrorist in attitude:
The racist-Peta would not work against the camel fight in Rajasthan.
The racist-Peta would not work against the silk-cloth used in temples for adorning the deity, although thousands of silk-worms are killed for producing every piece of silk-cloth, by dipping the pupae in boiling water.
The racist-Peta would not work against the cock-fight.
The racist-Peta would not talk against the manner in which horses are put to torture by the army for its Polo.
Please, therefore, do not allow the terrorist - Peta to influence your thoughts as their intention is racist, anti-Tamil and mala fide.
Tamils suffer unnecessarily:
Every Tamil who is facing lathi-charge is suffering, not because he is supporting Jallikkatu, but only because of the racial discrimination intended to be meted out toTamils, as a race, by the others who happen to be in power. That discriminatory anti-Tamil mentality is going still farther now, as could be seen from the events that take place now in Alanganallur.
Prayer:
Please, therefore, intercede and ensure that Jallikkattu is conducted as was in the past, with government directives and control.
Kindly render justice. And, you are in a position, now, to render justice.
With high regards.
