Croatia's embrace of their Nazi Ustasha past is unbearably obvious.

Here is yet another example of such an embrace. Ustasha members, aka war criminals (those who were involved in the orchestrated torture and deaths of hundreds of thousands) received pensions from the Croatian government at least up until 2015. This revolting revelation was revealed by famous Nazi hunter Effraim Zuroff in a Times of Israel article entitled "Nazi hunter urges Croatia to halt pensions to WWII fascists."

The Simon Wisenthal Centre went on to say that the pensions for the Ustasha war criminals was a "horrific insult." Not only were the criminals never brought to justice; they were and possibly still are being rewarded by the Croatian government for their barbaric acts of of inhumanity in the form of brutal mass genocide.

The article states: "Croatia is currently paying around 10,000 such pensions, to those still living or their spouses, which costs the European Union member around 50 million euros ($56 million) yearly, according to estimates."

The EU is the giant elephant in the room. It is complicit in Croatia's failure to reconcile the Serbian, Jewish, Roma genocide. Croatia's human rights failures should have barred the country from entry into the EU.

Rewarding war criminals and permitting them to evade justice is despicable. How can the EU consistently turn such a blind eye to such vile acts and still consider itself to be a reputable union?

Another example of Croatia rewarding war criminals, comes to us from Dr. Greif's book "Jasenovac of the Balkans" in which he explains that lower ranking Ustasha members were given offices and medals by Franjo Trudjman in 1999.

Finally to get to today's picture. Today's picture is probably one of the most famous victims of the genocide. He is the famous Serbian painter Sava Sumanovic who upon visiting his family was taken by the Ustasha, had his hands cut off and was killed two days later. He was killed on August 28, 1942 along with 150 other Serbs from Sremska Mitrovica. He was 46 years old. Never forget Sava and his grieving mother who would for years put a plate on the table in Sava's memory.

Your support is invaluable. Please continue to share and donate in memory of Sava and all the other victims. Thank you.
