Jane and Tito, well known for their environmental fight to save five separate unique ecosystems, including protected wetlands, rain-forest and marine areas of Black Johnson Beach, found themselves targeted by armed police and soldiers on 15 May 2023.
The arrest took place after a terrifying raid by Sierra Leone´s armed response unit. This raid had no lawful standing. No arrest warrant or court order had been issued. No-one will answer the question “who authorised this vicious, unnecessary raid?”
