Our semester has been completely changed by the international pandemic known as Covid-19 or the Coronavirus. Our lives have been uprooted, our families are in panic, and we have found ourselves displaced from the 40 acres to a myriad of locations around the globe. With all of our classes moving online and campus closing down, it is clear that nothing is normal about this semester.

A pass/fail system this semester would truly benefit every student on campus. Every single student has been personally affected by Covid-19 and it is the responsibility of the University to alleviate the burden off of the students. Many students are under lock down in their homes right now where they do not possess facilities proficient enough to help them achieve the best grades and results in their classes. This unfair proportion of students who will not be able to perform the best they can in their classes makes it clear that there is an immediate need for the transition to a pass/fail grading system.

As long as classes are taking place online, away from the physical campus, there should be a pass/fail grading system to even the playing field for all students, regardless of how or where they will be participating in these classes.
