The history of American politics is full of powerful figures that had wonderful facial hair. It made a statement to the world about their dedication to a long term commitment, as well as their ability to care for delicate situations. Some of the greatest and most memorable figures in history sported facial hair. From Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant with their full beards, to Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt's strong mustaches. Not just American leaders, either. Powerful and influential men throughout global history have had wonderful facial hair.  Men like Confucius, Leonardo Da Vinci,  Charles Darwin, and Friedrich Engels. 

Time and time again, studies have shown that men who have well groomed facial hair, be it mustache or beard, are perceived as being more masculine and dominant.  A 2018 study published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology surveyed about 8,500 women between the ages of 18 and 100. The study found that about 70% of women found bearded men to be both more attractive and more trustworthy. 

Sadly, it's been well over 100 years since America had a bearded leader. Not since  Benjamin Harrison left office in 1893. And from 1913 till today, no sitting president has had facial hair of any kind. Isn't it time that changed? 

When President-Elect Joe Biden was a young man, he had a great beard. I'm asking that President Biden start a new tradition, and bring back the Presidential beard!
