In our country there are various places that are known for its own natural resources and that offer an amazing view. Would you believe that Manila Bay is one of it? Manila bay has a total area of 1,994 square kilometers with a coastline of 190 kilometers and it composes of two cities, the city of Pasay and Paranaque. The primary contribution of it is to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country through the transportation facilities, particularly sea pots, shipping, airports, roads and railways. It is also the primary source of daily income of the people who are living within the vicinity of Manila Bay including the informal settlers through catching and selling fish. It is also popular because of its astonishing sunset view. The city government of Manila proposed this project since 2014. Expectedly Mayor Isko will be against to it because he said that it will only distract the natural environment of Manila Bay. Thou we all know that Manila Bay is damaged since then and it is very evident from the floating wastes on the bay.

If I asked you what will you choose having a stable job with fixed salary or having a unstable job with unfixed salary? Probably you will choose option A, having stable job and fixed salary because as a citizen of this kind of country it is hard to find a job and earn a salary. For me reclamation projects are one of the key for our fellow citizens to be employed and to earn money for them to provide their daily needs. According to PRA this reclamations will provide approximately 924,960 jobs. Attracting new investors are also one of the good effects that will contribute to the economy brought by these reclamations.  It will not only affect the lives of the people but It will also uplift the economy.

Since we all know that Manila Bay is known for its astonishing sunset view reclamation projects will not block it instead it will help it to be known and this infrastructure will serve as a shield for us to be protected when there are storm surge. In addition it will improve the condition of the environment in Manila Bay because it will entail massive removal of accumulated wastes at the bottom of the bay. But did you know that two thirds of Netherlands is reclaimed yet they don't experience flooding at all. This is just one of the examples of successful and useful reclaimed lands that is being used and access by almost all of the people.

But how can this reclamation projects promote the tourism of Metro Manila specifically Manila Bay? Since the infrastructures are consist of commercial buildings with modern architectural design such as mall, airports and sea ports that will attract tourist and other people to go. It is also new to the eyes of the people and it is far from what we see in other places in Manila. Just like in other countries reclaiming land is widely developing like in Singapore and Dubai. Their reclaimed land made their country to be known because it serves as an attraction to the tourist. Here will be a great impact in our lives especially to our fellow citizens because through the help of this reclamation projects we can achieve what we desire and prove that We should not be afraid of making decision for the development and improvement of our country and economy.

We can say that approving and developing this reclamation projects in Manila Bay is a big decision that will affect our lives especially us Filipinos but if we will look and analyze, this will be a great stepping stone for us step up and get along with the modernization. We must always keep in mind that progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.
