Petition to ban the Dog/Cat Meat Slaughter Industry

Petition to ban the Dog/Cat Meat Slaughter Industry
American Corporate Giants must demand a ban on the dog/cat meat torture and slaughter in foreign countries where they profitably operate
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens and voting residents of the state of Texas request that you urge social accountability and corporate responsibility by American companies operating in countries where the torture and slaughter of dogs and cats for the dog/cat meat trade exists.
With the passage of The PACT ACT, (Preventing Animal Abuse and Torture), here, in the United States, anyone who tortures animals is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. In contrast, in the countries around the world that engage in the dog/cat meat trade, torture is considered part of the meat preparation process. In these countries many corporate American giants operate on a grand scale, employing millions of citizens there and greatly contributing to the economies of these countries.
They earn billions in revenues for themselves and their shareholders, yet do nothing to stop the daily slaughter and torture of millions of dogs and cats
Companies such as Apple, Starbucks, Walmart, Amazon, Proctor & Gamble, Coca Cola, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Google, AES, G.M., General Electric and dozens of high-profile companies (especially in the semi- conductor industry in China, in particular), operate without helping any of the small animal welfare groups there desperately fighting this tragic battle. These mega corporations have the financial leverage to raise animal welfare issues and work with the NGOs seeking to ban this cruelty but look the other way. Please use your influence as elected officials and contact these companies and their lobbyist groups. Ask that they use their financial position and demand this barbarism be banned; starting with the notorious Yulin Dog Slaughtering Festival in June, and extending to all countries where the dog/cat meat trade exists.
Please stipulate that the companies listed above dialogue with the local authorities in the countries where they operate and insist that the dog/cat meat trade be banned or they will cease to operate in that region
