The Issue

Members of our Everlast Chiswick community are deeply connected to Eric and Café Terra, which for many years has been far more than a place to eat or drink. Through Café Terra, Eric has built long-standing relationships with members, trainers, and staff, offering daily support, familiarity, and genuine connection. As an athlete himself, Eric understands the needs of people who train. His experience in swimming and running informs the way he supports members — from teaching swimming and organising community runs to simply checking in and encouraging people on their fitness journeys. He is often the first friendly face members see when they arrive, and over time this consistency has helped shape the welcoming, people-centred culture that defines the gym. Following recent changes in ownership, the future of Café Terra — and Eric’s role within the gym — has become uncertain. What is at risk is not simply a café, but a long-standing community fixture that brings people together before and after workouts, supports healthy routines, and fosters a sense of belonging. Café Terra has been woven into the daily rhythm of the gym for years, contributing to continuity, loyalty, and a positive member experience that members trust and value. Now is the time for Everlast to hear directly from its members before decisions are made that could significantly affect the Chiswick community. This petition asks Everlast to preserve what already works by supporting Eric and Café Terra, and by engaging in open dialogue with the members who rely on this connection. Listening now demonstrates a commitment to long-term relationships, continuity, and the strong sense of community that has helped this gym thrive.
