The city of Aberdeen moved one step closer to what looks to be the destruction and replacement of the Young Street Bridge — also known as the Kurt Cobain Memorial Bridge — in the next two-and-a-half years.

As deeply personal supporters of Kurt Cobain and his legacy, we find it essential to preserve the Young Street bridge, also known as the Kurt Cobain Memorial Bridge in Aberdeen, WA. Much of Kurt's life, including some of his defining moments, were influenced by his time at this bridge. It even served as the basis for Nirvana’s iconic track “Something in the way." 

For many of us, this bridge is not just a piece of concrete and steel, it is a source of remembrance, reflection, and hope. To fans worldwide, it serves as a beacon of inspiration, an emboldening testament to the power of music and the spirit of resilience. As well as being a crucial monument for fans, the bridge holds an important place within the cultural tapestry of the city of Aberdeen.

The preservation of this bridge is not just about one monument, but about protecting our collective cultural heritage, preserving the legacy of one of the greatest musicians of our generation, and providing a place of solace and reflection for generations to come.
