Our beloved logo, which has been a symbol of Poquoson Public City Schools (PCPS) since 1976, is under threat. This emblem represents not just our school but also our community's history and identity. It was created in 1976 and has been used for PCPS ever since. However, the new Athletic Director decided to make a unilateral change without consulting the community.

The logo is more than just an image; it's a symbol that connects generations of students who have passed through PCPS. It stands as a testament to our shared experiences, achievements, and pride in being part of this educational institution.

We understand that change can be necessary at times but altering something so integral to our identity should involve input from all stakeholders - students, parents, alumni and staff alike. We believe that such decisions should not be made lightly or without broad consensus.

Therefore, we urge the administration to reconsider their decision and preserve the traditional logo of Poqouson Public City Schools. Let us respect tradition while embracing progress where it truly matters - in providing quality education for all students.
